Special Operations Course
Duration: 4 to 6 weeks (20 – 30 working days)
Students: up to 6
Pre-Requisites
- Physically fit
- Must be able to list 40 kg
- Must attend course with his/her assigned K9
- Must be assigned or employed by a Governmental Special Operation or Special missions Team
- Must be willing to wear K9 bite clothing or equipment
- Must have all necessary K9 and personal equipment as per mission task
Course Description
This course is designed to train and prepare the Special Operations K9 teams to be mission ready for any task. Special Operations K9 are a unique team, working in extreme environments and conditions. This training was designed by an expert in training and handling Special Operation K9’s and team members. Training will include theoretical and practical exercises with different scenarios pertaining to the Special Operation theatre. Upon completion, trainees must successfully pass the JNK9C K-9 Special Operation Dog Certification test.

- Proper movement and approaches
- Tactical entries with entire team members
- K9 commands and direction from other team members
- Smoke and explosive entries
- Repelling with K9
- Interdictions and Patrol techniques
- Route ambushes and EID
- Building searches with team members moving with dog
- Stealth approaches and entries
- Stealth and Dynamic entries using K9
- Shooting scenarios with K9 from handler and bad guys
- Tactical movements with hand signals and sound
- Chemical gas scenarios using K9
